Garminが、アクションカメラ “VIRBシリーズ” のニューモデルとなる「VIRB X」と「VIRB XE」を発表しました。
これまでのVIRBシリーズとは異なり、本体デザインがGo Proを意識したものに変わっている他、「VIRB Elite」に比べて、小型軽量化（77 x 40.6 x 36.8 mm / 151.7g）されています。
主なスペックは、「VIRB X」が1080p@30fpsの動画撮影に対応、「VIRB XE」は1080p@60fpsの動画撮影に対応。両機種共に、GPS, 速度計, ANT+, 50m防水, 980mAhバッテリーで2時間の連続撮影が可能です。
GarminならではのGPSによる位置情報の記録や速度計、ANT+によるGarmin製品との連携などの独自機能によって、その他のアクションカメラとの差別化が図られています。
価格は「VIRB X」が299ドル、「VIRB XE」が399ドル。
6月より発売予定。
